Testimonials

"The last two times I had to re-qualify on my organizations firearms test, I failed and had to receive remedial training both times in order to pass. While shooting was never my strong point (I just started shooting a few years ago) and while I really didn't enjoy it all that much, I felt that I should be able to perform better than the level I was shooting at. After asking around a little, I was told Ron could help me within a couple of hours. When I spoke to Ron, not only did he affirm that he could help me, he also promised me that he would help me to making shooting more fun and challenging, rather than an intimidating and disagreeable experience that it had become for me. I have to admit that I didn't believe that anyone could help me in just "a couple of hours" but, knowing that I needed help, I decided to listen to the advice and give Ron the benefit of the doubt. I am happy to report that my decision was a good one. Ron's approach was strait forward, logical, very easy to pick up on, follow and implement. And, just as he had promised me, after two and a half hours (and only about 80 rounds) on the range with him, I actually found shooting to be challenging, yet more fun than I had imagined. I found that I was indeed capable of good shooting, shooting was demystified and I found that I could indeed shoot better than I had ever imagined. Armed with the knowledge and skills that Ron helped me to uncover in just a few short hours, I went out to the range the following day and I qualified with a score of 193 points out of a possible 200, that's qualifying with better than 95% (on a official Federal qualification course). Contrasting the results to when I first learned to shoot the pistol at a large nationally recognized school (where I took a 3-day course and shot thousands of rounds) and at the end of that training, I didn't even qualify as well as I did after only a couple of hours with Ron... well, I really wish Ron's training was available to me then. I honestly believe that Ron fulfilled his promise to me, and I believe that he has given me the skills that I need to succeed for a lifetime of shooting."

"This course takes everything you think you know about shooting & protection with a gun and packs it away, to replace it with what you should know."

- Torry S., Doctor of Chiropractic

"(The) technical handgun training was outstanding, but we also learned all the legal, psychological and physiological aspects of what would occur (if we would have to use lethal force). The force on force (Reality Based Training) exercises provided a realistic training experience that can not be (overstated) duplicated. These (exercises) were are invaluable and tie the whole class together. The lectures and training build on each other, and you can see how you climb the training pyramid. I needed personal, encouraging, instruction, every hour of every day from all the instructors. It is obvious that they care that you improve and get better, it is not that that they are just instructors, they are friends as well... Becoming proficient at self protective shooting is so far different than just shooting targets (on a range), it is a totally different game, there are no similarities. If you are buying a gun with the idea that you will ever need to use it for anything other than paper targets, even if this chance is minimal you HAVE to take this class.

(I liked) the progression from 0 to the higher levels of competence, one building block at a time... Practical exercises which showed how the blocks fit together... Training both COMBAT EFFECTIVENESS PLUS JUDGEMENT AND DISCRETION... THE MOST ADULT AND USEFUL COMBINATION POSSIBLE... THE EXTREME PATIENCE AND COMPETENCE OF EACH INSTRUCTOR... THE TOTAL PROFESSIONALISM (of the Role Players). Thank you for creating a program of practical value, you have done an excellent job. Your lethal force competition training (Reality Based Training) shows you how to become a lethal force, and how not to use it.

Ron’s teaching method is very effective. In less than two hours my shooting ability increased dramatically. Ron was able to help me by focusing on what I needed to do. Ron did not waste any time telling me how great of a shooter he is or any of his past accomplishments. I knew Ron for over 2 years before I realized that he was such an accomplished shooter, even then I had to ask. It was apparent to me that Ron was only worried about my performance as a shooter. Ron’s method was not just philosophical. The technical aspects of the training were even more impressive. He was able to identify my deficiencies and correct them almost instantly. After the deficiencies were identified and corrected Ron helped me to become a self - correcting shooter. I now know how to identify my own mistakes and correct them.

“Not everyone that is an expert can teach what they know - Ron possess both - he's an excellent teacher... (it was an) awesome course, (great) material, practical knowledge that is made easy and simple to assimilate, all at a great price. Thank you for an excellent, fun, and enjoyable course… After taking O2DA's 2-Day Protective Handgun Course, I knew that I would be doing more business with them in the future. I am already signed up to take the course again to squeeze even more knowledge and practical experience out of it. I did it the first time with a revolver, this time with a semi-auto. I've never considered myself a fighter… But I also am not naive… Because of this, I decided I wanted to have the practical knowledge AND experience to be prepared in advance of any potential hostile encounter. O2DA fully trained me in the knowledge of when not to fight, when to fight and if I have to fight, to decisively win that encounter. After taking the course, I still do not go looking for a fight. But what I have now is the awareness and confidence to assess a situation quick enough to try to diffuse it and if it can't be diffused to end it in my (or my family's, friend's or innocent bystander's) favor. If this sounds too bold to be true, you haven't taken Ron's course yet. I count it was one of the top five things that I've done in my life thus far."

- Chaz C. Contract Salesman

"I...have received training from many different agencies and... none of them compare to the skills I gained in O2DA's training course...Ron's class took me from being a good shooter with multiple training scars to an excellent shooter with the ability to protect my family in any situation.  No other firearms school provides students with the training methodology that Ron employs."

- Professor Brian R., Wisconsin

"I was fortunate enough to participate in Ron’s firearms training program overseas and it was a first class program of instruction. On a personal level Ron is a “quiet professional”. His presentation is confident, articulate, and detailed. His demeanor is warm and friendly adding to a pleasant interaction and productive shooting experience from an experienced instructor and operator. His comfortable interaction puts the student at ease facilitating greater and faster learning as the student focuses on the content of the instruction rather than the instructor context.

On a professional level Ron provides a logical, scientific program of instruction yet communicates the techniques in a concise and easily understood method. His simple yet radical approach to firearms instruction cuts through the misconceptions and fallacies of marksmanship like a laser sight. I have been in the U.S. Army Special Forces for nineteen years and have spent three years in High Threat Protection. I learned more about effective and efficient shooting in three hours with Ron that I have in all my previous years."

"During the last month I have been trying to improve my pistol skills. I have had many other great shooters go to the range with me trying to diagnose my problem. I though I knew what I was doing wrong and tried what everybody told me, I tried to apply several things but I just couldn’t put it all together.

Ron came to the range with me and within 2 hours had me shooting better then I ever have throughout my entire pistol shooting life. With Ron’s professional technique of instruction I was able to put it all together and truly fix what I was doing wrong. He started the class by telling me he guaranteed me that I would be shooting better by the end of the class then ever. I had doubt at first but kept my mind open as he had asked me to. By the end of the class I was shooting the best I ever have. Now I have the confidence in my shooting that I have strived to obtain."

"Over the past 25 years I have been associated with many Special operations and shooting professionals. Many are highly proficient at their trade and able to apply effective firearms and defensive tactics in real world situations. With years of experience and instruction this becomes second nature, however without this experience and the ability to expend thousands of rounds in training, most citizens will be unable to attain this level of proficiency.

I have learned in a career as a U.S. Navy SEAL that very few truly outstanding “shooters” are able to articulate the decision making process that is coupled with a simultaneous ability to employ deadly force as needed. I have worked along side Ron in real world, high threat environments and have experienced first hand his ability to move an ordinary person with a strong desire to improve to levels of proficiency that are quite surprising. His low key, no nonsense approach makes for a relaxed but focused learning environment. The transmission of knowledge happens at a rapid, retainable, and demonstrable rate. I look forward to learning from him again, and again."

"In over 15 years of Police SWAT Sniper and High Threat Special Operations and now a Tactical Firearms Instructor teaching DoD and (other federal agencies), I have come across few people who have a true passion for teaching like Ron. Our lessons were quick and no nonsense, delivered professionally with sincerity and without a "drill instructor" mentality. I thoroughly enjoyed and benefited from the casual and friendly atmosphere and learned more in 1 day than most schools offer in 2 to 3 day courses. His remarkable teaching style of precise, to the point teaching, expertly proficient demonstrations, followed with intense hands on practical learning exercises, truly sets the student up for maximum learning success. Ron’s extensive experience combined with his training philosophy produces maximum skill level progress in minimal time. I would highly recommend one of Ron’s courses regardless of experience level."

- Chad B., Texas

"I have been carry firearms professionally for over 25 years and have been a certified firearms instructor for the past 14 years. During my tenure in the firearms community serving in military, state and federal Special Operations assignments and as a high risk security contractor, I have yet to meet someone with the wealth of knowledge and understanding of maneuver warfare and direct tactical application of firearms as Ron. Ron’s delivery style and instruction methodology are the best I have seen in the firearms instruction industry to date. Ron’s friendly, respectful; no nonsense approach to teaching anyone to use the firearm of their choice is absolutely second to none.

One of the most impressive things I have discovered about Ron and his desire to impart his knowledge to others is the fact that he never stops educating himself and seeking the very best from his craft and skill sets. I highly recommend you send yourself and your love one’s to O2DA to learn whatever firearms discipline you choose if you want to receive the very best training in the industry today. When it comes to cutting edge professional instruction of firearms, O2DA is the solution you are looking for."

- Jim H, President, Security Concepts of Colorado, LLC

"I first met Ron in Gardez, Afghanistan while working for the same organization. Ron identified the need to bring our Nepalese Gurkha Soldiers (who were providing Static Security for our FOB) up-to-standard on “American style” marksmanship and safe weapons handling. Using only locally obtained materials and great deal of ingenuity, Ron designed a firearms training course which was second to none. All U.S. Personnel on the Gardez Security Team agreed to take part in Ron’s training course in order to show solidarity for our Nepalese counterparts.

Insomuch, my attendance of the course was solely for the purpose of displaying team spirit, but I soon learned otherwise. During my seven years of Service as an Infantry Officer in the U.S. Army, my five years as a Federal Agent with the U.S. Border Patrol and three years of Corporate Soldiering in the Middle East as a High-Threat/High-Risk Security Contractor, I have never met an instructor like Ron. Ron is a calm, patient and intuitive individual who brings a wealth of knowledge to bear; He is easily able to transition his teaching stance from addressing those with little or no firearms experience, to meeting the needs of a seasoned warrior who is seeking to further-hone his (or her) combat skills."

- Robert V., Jacksonville, FL

"I was lucky enough to meet and work with Ron in Afghanistan. I have received firearms training in a career that includes being a Soldier, US Border Patrol Agent, and US Fish & Wildlife Law Enforcement Ranger. The training I received from those agencies was sold to me as being cutting edge and the best available. After having the chance to receive instruction from Ron however, I saw how little prepared I had actually been in dealing with real time tactical threats.

In his unassuming but assured manner, Ron instills the mindset, decision making and tactical shooting skills which are essential in being successful in a lethal threat encounter. He boils the art of shooting down to its essence; imparting his knowledge and delivering instruction in a fluid, relaxed, but realistic manner. Ron has a modest encouraging demeanor coupled with an immense skill and passion for teaching. These qualities elevate him from that of a mere instructor to more of a mentor or sensei in a matter of hours. You will not find better quality or more relevant firearms training today."
